Top Secret Drum Corps was established in 1991 by a group of talented young drummers in Basel. This town has a rich tradition of drum music and it is famous all over Europe for its medieval carnival Fasnacht. In Basel there are 3,000 drummers who perform at traditional festivals and at parades of the town’s various guilds. The Basel musicians’ drumming comes from medieval Swiss soldiers.
However, the music made by Top Secret Drum Corps sounds more modern and melodious. The group decided not to be limited to traditional carnival melodies and rhythms. Due to their energy and unpredictability, performances of the Swiss drummers have become some of the most popular and
The group tours all around the world: from Russia to Australia, from South Africa to China. The Top Secret Drum Corps group is always a welcome guest at military festivities. The musicians have repeatedly participated in the Basel Tattoo, the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and many others. The drummers have also performed at the Royal International Tattoo in Halifax (Canada) and at two official audiences with Queen Elizabeth II. The group’s plans include a concert at London Albert Hall.
