The Post Brass Band of Maribor

In 1931 a group of postal workers, amateur musicians, set up a post brass band. It soon became very popular and many other band music enthusiasts, who were not postal employees, joined them. The Post Brass Band is largely supported and sponsored by Slovenia’s national postal operator.
From the very beginning, the band has received widespread publicity. One could hardly imagine an important cultural, sports or tourist event in Maribor or in the district without the Post Brass Band playing. The band regularly takes part in symphony band competitions held in Slovenia where it is ranked among the best.
The band also actively performs abroad taking part at various international festivals in Austria, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, Bohemia, Sweden, Croatia and Spain. Recently, the band has also included show program in their repertoire.
