Founded back in 1997 in honor of bersagliere Guglielmo Colombo, founder of the Lecco bersaglieri division (1926), the brass band unites marksmen from Lecco and neighboring towns. During traditional Bersaglieri parades their participants do not march but run that adds a special and unusual hue to the whole performance.
Enjoying great popularity in its native country, the Guglielmo Colombo Bersaglieri Brass Band takes part in major national marksmen’s meetings in Lucca, Biella, La Spezia, Bari, Assisi, Cremona, Ascoli Piceno, Florence, Vercelli, Pordenone, San Giovanni, Milan and Torino.
Besides, the band often performs abroad, for example in France, Germany (Musikparade Festival), Norway, Switzerland, Belgium and South Corea (Gyeryong World Military Culture Festival).
