The Band of the Honor Guard of the Minsk Military Commandant’s Unit was established in 1955. Since becoming fully operational, the ensemble has been the leading military and ceremonial music unit of the country. Its main task is to promote national military traditions and instill patriotic values in the younger generation.
The band’s musicians participate in key national events, including the arrival and departure ceremonies of heads of foreign states and governments, as well as cover a variety of Honor Guard rituals.
Together with the Honor Guard Unit, the Band of the Minsk Military Commandant’s Service has showcased a plethora of exemplary performances introducing the audiences to the art of drilling and music traditions of the Belarusian army.
The leadership of the country has consistently acknowledged the musicians’ exceptional performance of their professional duties, which is a valuable contribution to the Republic of Belarus image in international and diplomatic circles.
