The Band of the Air Forces of Italy

Created in 1937, the band staged its first examination performance in the presence of Pietro Mascagni. The ensemble is based in Rome and it’s mainly in charge of music accompaniment for the state events in the Presidential Palace (in turn with the other national military bands).
The band’s repertoire includes works of over 600 composers: Bach, Rossini, Verdi, Bellini, Wagner, Gershwin, Hindemith and Schoenberg, to name some of them. The band consists of highly professional musicians, graduates of the Italian conservatories and on actual military service.
The musicians regularly participate in military rituals and parades, make tours in Europe, Asia, North and South America. Some of their concerts took place in New York, Chicago, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Hamburg and Berlin, Monaco and Ankara, Rome and La Scala in Milan; Belgium, France, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Bulgaria, Turkey, Spain, and others.
