The Hellenic Military Massed Band

The Hellenic Military Massed Band features bandsmen from the Hellenic Air Force Band and Hellenic Navy Band.
Founded in 1947 in Athens the Hellenic Air Force Band ensures musical support at various military,
social, cultural, religious and recreational activities including welcoming ceremonies for head of states and
prime ministers, and official events held at the Presidential Palace and Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
The ensemble also takes part at national marching parades and in the official taking an oath
ceremony at the Hellenic Air Force Academy.
It is a frequent participant of various international military festivals in France, Korea, Italy, Malta, Albania, Ukraine, Russia, Belgium, Romania and the USA. It also takes part in social and recreational activities entertaining their audience with classical repertoire featuring Greek and foreign compositions.
Formed in 1880 the Hellenic Navy Band covers major state events, performs for radio and TV and tours a lot presenting Greece abroad. The renowned ensemble participated in the opening ceremonies of the I Olympic Games of 1896 and XXVIII Olympic Games of 2004 in Athens.
Furthermore, the Hellenic Navy Band performed at several military Tattoos in the Netherlands, Poland, Belgium, France, Bulgaria and Sweden.
