The South Australian Pipes and Drums was founded in April 2003 from the most experienced musicians of the region to perform at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. As it was a new band that didn’t enjoy its own uniform, the opportunity was used to make a new tartan which included the colours of the state of South Australia.

Enjoying huge popularity the band successfully performs at concerts, parades and evening dance parties (cayley). The band is on the continuous search for new talents and strives to bring up the next generation of young performers. Without doubt this is the most distinguished and diversified pipe band in South Australia.
