Captain Jae-Kyung Park, Head and Chief Conductor of the Band.

Founded in 1951, the Band of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Air Force was the first wind ensemble created within the unit. Nowadays the group has the honor to be among permanent participants of different military and public events held in the country.

The Band of the ROK Air Force is widely known for its unique style of performance. Bringing together the Korean traditional and western-style music instruments, it has developed a wide repertoire rich in genres and styles. Staging big concerts, performing chamber music, acting as a marching band and making appearances with a choir, all this helped the band to conquest the affection of the whole country. While showcasing the Republic of Korea Air Force, the group also plays an important role in fostering military diplomatic relations.

Besides, the musicians are extremely popular for performing K-Pop. Thus, over 4.5 million people from 210 countries viewed their Les Miserables video parody on their YouTube channel.

The Band of the ROK Air Force takes part in various events held both in the country and abroad. Its achievements record includes the Seoul Summer Olympic Games of 1988, the FIFA World Championship in Korea and Japan, the International Wind Music Festival held in Korea, the Japan Armed Forces Music Festival as well as the Jinhae-gu International Music and Honor Guard Festival (ROK).
