Highlanders — Sifort and Gordons and Cameronians 4th Battalion, Royal Scottish Regiment, Pipes and Drums

The ‘Highlanders’ history roots back to 1778, when these regiments collected all over the highland and islands of Scotland. Now the Highlanders are stationed in Bad Fallingbostel (North Germany) and are an armoured infantry battalion. In recent times they have served in Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Iraq.

The pipers and drummers are not only musicians but are also soldiers of a high level. All of them form the crew of armoured vehicles and take part in training exercises and military operations.

The pipes and drums of Highlanders are often heard in the presence of Her Highness Queen of Great Britain and recently they played in her Scottish residency — Balmoral Castle. The Band performs all over the world, carrying over the spirit of Highland Scotland to such countries as USA, Canada, India, Australia, Italy, Denmark, Netherlands and Germany. It regularly performs at the famous Edinburgh Military Tattoo, as well as often participates and wins at the competitions of military and civil pipers.
