The Band of the Headquarters of the Southern Military District

The Military Band of the Southern Military District headquarters was established on August 2, 1962 on the basis of a military band of the 106th Signal Regiment with the permanent duty location in Rostov-on-Don. Collecting for over 50 years the best musicians of the region under its lead the band has established itself as a well-known forge of military conductors whose work has glorified and strengthened the band and its authority. In 2012 the band became part of the 175th Luninets-Pinsk Order of Alexander Nevsky and double Red Star Brigade of the Southern Military District Command.
The band has repeatedly become a prize-winner of the All-army competitions of military bands as well as of various festivals demonstrating their highest professionalism and skills. Band is considered as one of the best creative bands of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, as evidenced by its creative achievements in the above mentioned events.
Many musicians and conductors of the band are not only winners of international and national competitions, but also the holders of honorary titles.
The Band of the Southern Military District Headquarters continues and develops the glorious traditions of Russian military music.
