The Military Band of the North-Western District Headquarters of the National Guard Forces
of the Russian Federation was established back in 1926 following a series of military and
political reforms.
Throughout its history, the band has undergone an intricate artistic way of growing into a large
high-professional music ensemble that now performs onstage of the best concert venues across Saint
Petersburg and Leningrad region. It continuously takes part in international music festivals and contests,
featuring Vivat, Saint Petersburg, Kazan Fanfares, Victory Fanfares as well as the Amur Waves and the
Spasskaya Tower on Sakhalin festivals. Furthermore, the band is the permanent participant of the St.
Petersburg Wind Music Seasons. This large international music project allows the military musicians performing along
with the world’s best wind performers as well as mastering their skills. Through music, the band aims
at reviving patriotic feelings in the hearts of their audiences and the spirit of great
victories by Peter the Great, founder of wind bands in Russia.
In 2013 the group became prize-winner of the Soldier Song National Festival held
in Sochi.
In 2015 it traveled to Kazakhstan to take part in the Fourth Eskeri Kernei International
Military Music Festival.
The band has the honor of being part of the military parade of the St. Petersburg Garrison forces
dedicated to the Great Victory.
