The Exemplary Band of the National Guard Forces of the Russian Federation is one of the leading military and artistic ensembles of the country.

Formed in 1971, the band has already marked its fiftieth anniversary. Along its history the ensemble has toured all the former Soviet Union republics, as well as made tremendous success in Germany, France, Greece, Cyprus, China, Vietnam, Singapore, anf other countries.

The Exemplary Band of the National Guard Forces features two main sections playing wind and symphonic instruments. The band’s achievement record lists collaborations with various prominent singers. It may also be spotted among regular participants of all military parades on Red Square and different state-level events. Today more than a hundred professional musicians and artists serve and work within the ensemble’s ranks, featuring Honored Workers and People’s Artists of Russia, prize-winners and participants of various national and international contests.

Led by Colonel Azat Shakhmuhametov, the band carries on with Russia’s glorious music traditions, promoting the art of music, as well as engaging with Russian Ministry of Culture institutions and music ensembles not only from Moscow, but all over Russia. Throughout its many years of history the band has staged a plethora of concerts and prepared a big number of events introducing the audiences to some of the best and most popular music pieces by Russian and foreign composers.
