The Military Band of the 1st Army of the Air Defense and Anti-Missile Defense Forces of Russia

The military band was formed in 1961 on the basis of the air defense communications center in the Moscow Region city of Mytishchi.
Over the years, among the ensemble’s leaders were Captain Zolotarev, Major Slobodinsky, Major Shchukarev, Captain Gorbunov, and Lieutenant Colonel Lukin.

Following the order of the USSR Ministry of Defense, in 1976, the band got the name of the 29th Military Band and moved to Moscow.
From 1970 to 1985, the band’s musicians were actively engaged in concert activities. They toured all over the country staging concerts for the representatives of the air defense forces.

Over its long history, the orchestra members have been honest in fulfilling their duties and have repeatedly shown their high professionalism. The most significant events in the history of the ensemble are the meeting of Yuri Gagarin, after he got back to Earth, and its participation in the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
The band has won numerous festivals and concerts, and it is a regular participant in the Great Victory Parade on Red Square. Throughout its history, the ensemble has always proven and shown itself as a young and dynamic music team, always seizing the moment and conquering new artistic heights.
