His Majesty the King’s Guard Band and Drill Team is the finest display unit in the Norwegian Armed Forces.
This parade unit is organised as an ordinary infantry company and consists of Master Band, Ceremonial Band and Drill Team, all together 135 soldiers (men/women) and officers.
Every guardsman is a national serviceman, doing their 12 months of compulsory military service. After being called up the conscripts immediately start their musical and basic infantry training.
