Founded in 1826 following the order of Ottoman Sultan Mahmud II, Turkish Armed Forces Armoni Band is among one of the oldest music institutions of Turkey. Consisting of three performing groups, the band is known for its multifunctional character, a capability that enables it to perform either as a marching band in ceremonies or as a concert band.
Main repertoire of the band includes some of the world’s best classical music pieces and symphonic compositions, as well as national and foreign marches. Armoni Band is actively engaged in development and popularization of western music in Turkey.
The band has successfully represented Turkey in various events held in Afghanistan, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Kosovo, Netherlands, Malesia, Romania, Russia, UK and US. It is a frequent guest of various TV and radio shows. The band has eight CD records.
