Cordoba Equestrian Association

The Cordoba Equestrian Association was formed in 1996. It is a non-profit association of public interest with the aim of promoting and wide spreading the equestrian world as well as enhancing the cultural value of the emblematic building of the Royal Stables of Córdoba.

This scope of action contributes to the consolidation of Cordoba as a remarkable city in the equestrian sector at both the national and international level

The Royal Stables of Cordoba were built by a royal decree issued by Philip II in 1570, with intend of creating the “Perfect Horse” — the Andalusian Horse which is one of the finest and best-known breeds in the world. Since 1929 the stables have been the national monument of Spain.

Annually the Cordoba Equestrian Association develops a series of performances where sports, art and culture meet. They all revolve around this noble animal, which is the main lynchpin. But the main attraction of the group and one of the best international shows is its show “Passion and Spirit of the Andalusian Horse”, which conjures up two fundamental elements of the identity of the Spanish culture: flamenco and the Andalusian Horse.

The Cordoba Equestrian Association has the privilege to perform in some of the best Equestrian Schools in the world, among them the Spanische Hofreitschule in Vienna, the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art in Lisbon and the Cadre Noir de Saumur.
