Changxing Lotus Dragon Dance is considered to be the intangible heritage of the Chinese culture. Born in the Changxing district of the Zhejiang province, the dance embodies all the hues of the local culture. Changxing Lotus Dragon is a beautiful old-time legend about a dragon that was born on the shore of the lotus pond in the Changxing village located in the southern part of the Yangzi river. The dance shows lotus flowers transforming in a magical Dragon, while swirling of the green leaves demonstrates the enchantment and virtuosity of the Changxing art concept. Unique design, sophisticated constructions and magic of the performance have contributed to the world’s popularity of Changxing Lotus Dragon Dance considered to be one of the best shows with dragon ever.

Changxing Lotus Dragon Dance won the All Stat Awards in the Tenth National Dance Competition and was awarded the status of the intangible heritage of the Zhejiang province. In 2009 the art group staged a breathtaking performance on the Tiananmen Square to honor the sixtieth anniversary of the Chinese People’s Republic.
