Head of the group — Band Director Johnpaul Wyndham.
Formed in 1990 by the Member of the Order of the British Empire Mr John Wyndham, since 2013 the Band is led by his son, Mr Johnpaul Wyndham. The Brentwood Imperial Youth Band is the largest independent youth marching band in the United Kingdom. The objective of the band remains the same today as it did 28 years ago: to provide children an equal and accessible opportunity to develop their musical skills. Based in the town of Brentwood, which is located just outside of London in the South East of England, the band recruits its members from its hometown and surrounding areas. Nowadays the Band has over 70 musicians; the youngest musicians on parade in Moscow are just 10 years old!
The Band has toured many European countries; it has been to the USA where it marched The Rose Parade, Pasadena, California in 1996 and 2000. It is the only youth band to perform at The Festival of Remembrance, London; its highlights also include playing in central London for the official event to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th Birthday. Band’s representatives have appeared at various TV shows: one of the favorite and most visited ones has become Top Gear on BBC.
