The Girl Drummers Band of the All-Girls Boarding School, Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation

Larisa Maximova, Head of the All-Girls Boarding School of the Russian MoD, Honored Teacher of Russia, Doctor of pedagogical sciences, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Russian Journalists Union member.

Established in 2008 as part of the Russian Armed Forces Social Development Strategy, the Boarding School for Girls of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has proved itself as one of the best pre-university educational institutions of the country’s Ministry of Defense. For seven years in a row, it got the prize pennant awarded to the Best Cadet Corps/School of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The school is meant for daughters of military staff from remote military garrisons, perished officers and soldiers, as well as combat veterans.

Along with the general learning plan, girls are into a plethora of exciting activities, featuring at the moment more than 50 courses, classes and workshops, such as choreography, vocal, music, sports, theatre, handmade, culinary, journalism, creative writing, etc.

The Girl Drummers Band is a unique project carried out by the boarding school. Members of the group regularly perform onstage of the best concert venues of Moscow translating good and positive vibes to their audiences. The Girl Drummers Band is the prize-winner of the 2017 DRAM FEST RUSH FESTIVAL and National Percussion Competition.

The band has the honor of being among the regular participants of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival.
