The Polish Armed Forces Representative Band and Honor Guard

Major Miroslaw Rytel, Director of Music.

Captain Marcin Ślązak, Bandmaster.

Chief Warrant Officer Miroslav Chilmanowicz, Drum Major.

The Polish Armed Forces Representative Band was established in 1993 and bears the name of Józef Wybicki, in honor of the author of the Polish national anthem. The band supports all major state and military events that also feature participation of the Polish Armed Forces Honor Guard Unit. Besides it meets protocol needs featuring military rituals both in Poland and abroad, welcoming and seeing-off ceremonies of presidents, prime-ministers, royal family members, military leaders and foreign ambassadors accredited in Poland, as well as solemn guard changing at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and wreath-laying ceremonies.

Moreover, the Band is an indispensable part of Warsaw cultural life. It stages concerts of popular and military music, and takes part in parades.

The Band and Honor Guard of the Polish Armed Forces has repeatedly taken part in international military tattoos both in Europe (Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Slovakia) and the USA.
