Today, on the 22nd of August, Mireille Mathieu came to Moscow. The legendary French singer according to the tradition will participate at X International Military Music Festival «Spasskaya Tower», which will take place at the Red Square fr om the 26 of August to the 3rd of September. This year Mireille Mathieu will perform at the Festival opening ceremony.
The Special Guard of the President’s Regiment of the Russian Federal Guard Service, fans and mass media representatives welcomed the singer at the airport with flowers.
«I am very pleased to be considered a lucky charm of the Festival, wh ere musicians from different countries participate. This Festival does not have any borders, just as music does. We read out our hand to each other, military musicians as well as civilians. Flags of different countries, which spread around the Red Square, and the music of orchestras from all over the world create a unique atmosphere of friendship, harmony and happiness», says Mireille Mathieu.
Every year the legendary French singer performs her hits and songs in Russian. During her tour she always sings at least one song in the language of her audience. This is why she has songs in nine languages in her list, but the Russian language is special for her.
For example, in 2009 the singer surprised the audience by singing one of the most popular Russian romances «Ochi chyornye» («Black eyes») a capella, and in 2014 by singing the hymn of Moscow.
She also performed the world famous songs «Non je regretted rien», «Padam...Padam...», «Pardonne-Moi», «Une Vie D’amour». In 2013 the song «Eintönig klingt hell das Glöcklein» became the highlight of her concert. Her performance at the Red Square is always a culmination of the event and is met by a great tornado of applause.
Mireille Mathieu is the godmother of the Festival, as the singer herself says, and its lucky charm , as the organizers of the Festival say. This year she prepared a special program dedicated to the Festival’s anniversary. The first show will take place on the 26th of August. X International Military Music Festival «Spasskaya Tower» will take place at the Red Square from the 26th of August to the 3rd of September.
