Hibla Gerzmava Will Return to the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival

Go back

One of the most famous Russian opera stars in the world, Hibla Gerzmava will once again perform for the audiences of the Spasskaya Tower Festival evening shows.

Accompanied by the Central Military Band of the Russian Ministry of Defense (led by Colonel Sergey Durygin, Head of the Band and Honored Artist of Russia), she will step onto the cobblestones of Red Square on August 27 and 28.

But the organizers still keep it secret what the performance is going to be.

Let us remind you, that Hibla Gerzmava made her debut at the last year’s run of the Festival. Back then she performed together with Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar, leading singer of the Buryatia Opera and Ballet State Academic Theatre, Honored Artist of Mongolia and the Buryatia Republic.

For Information

Hibla Gerzmava is the prize-winner of various international music contests and competitions including the Italian Voci Verdiani of 1993, the 1994 International Francisco Vinas Competition in Barcelona, and 1994 International Rimsky-Korsakov Competition in St.-Petersburg. She is also the grand prix winner of the International Tchaikovsky Competition held the same year in Moscow. In 2001 she was awarded the prize for Best Singer at the Golden Orpheus Opera Festival.

Hibla Gerzmava is always welcome at the world’s best opera stages featuring Mariinsky and Bolshoi theatres, London’s Covent Garden, New York’s Metropolitan Opera, Paris’ Grand Opéra, Vienna’s Wiener Staatsoper and Milan’s La Scala.

She is among the few opera singers in the world to perform all four female parts in Jacques Offenbach’s Tales of Hoffmann, a very difficult task for any vocalist.
