At the beginning of October Minsk hosted the Third Eurasia. DOC CIS Countries Documentary Film Festival where the Spasskaya Tower: Ten Years in the Rhythm of March movie finished strong ending up in the shortlist of the festival’s Out of Competition section.
The Spasskaya Tower: Ten Years in the Rhythm March was filmed in 2017 by the TV Center, one of the leading Russian TV companies. The film is dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival held annually at Moscow’s Red Square.
Every year some of the best Russian and foreign military bands, artistic groups and honor guard units take part in the Spasskaya Tower Festival which geographical footprint already spans all corners of the globe.
“The documentary featuring one of the biggest military music festivals in the world. People, details, emotions. Everything that
makes the Spasskaya Tower so special. Everything that has always remained behind the scenes.
The set of the film features participation of Mireille Маthieu, legendary French singer; Mr. Evgeni Khoroshevtsev, Russian actor, TV host, official voice of protocol events with participation of the Russian President, professor at the MSU faculty of arts, Honored Worker of Arts of Russia and Honored Artist of Russia; Mr. Mikhail Shemyakin, world famous Russian painter and sculptor; Mr. Mikhail Shvydkoi, Russian theater critic and expert, public and state figure, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on International Cultural Cooperation; Mr. Alexander Zhukov, first Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation; Lieutenant General Sergey Khlebnikov, Head of the Service of the Moscow Kremlin Commandant of the Federal Guard Service of Russia.
As ever the Competition and Out of Competition sections of the festival’s official selection featured a large number of works covering a wide range of topics. But this time the audiences had a chance to switch their minds from heavy thoughts brought by pictures pondering over serious problems and enjoy themselves listening to good music while watching a beautiful film by famous Russian journalist Artem Konstantinov.
The film was produced and inspired by Marina Kolosova, member of the Russian TV Academy, head of the artistic programs and movie broadcasting section as well as producer of the music entertaining programs and special project of the TV Center channel.
