The Military Bands in the City Parks, St Petersburg Edition, is Back with a Medley of Popular Hits and Rock-n-Roll Pieces

Go back

This Saturday, September 6, at 12 am sharp the Band of the A. F. Mozhaisky Military and Space Forces Academy will stage a concert within the ninth season of the Military Bands in the City. Another concert of the program will unfold in the city Linear Park on the banks of Smolenka river.

This first weekend of autumn will feature a hilarious concert full of vivid melodies and popular hits. Everyone strolling along the Linear Park lanes will have an opportunity to enjoy the Bella Ciao popular Italian song or Leonid Agutin’s hit Granitsa. Fan-favorite Arno Babajanyan pieces such as the Blue Eternity and Bring the music back to me will give way to renowned rock-n-roll compositions including Rock Around the Clock.

“Though the summer season is over it does not mean that there is no place for quality music anymore. That’s why we have put together a lively program that will help you get over the autumn blues”, highlighted Senior Lieutenant Kirill Gridasov, Conductor of the Band.

Thus, we are looking forward to meeting you this Saturday, September 6, at 12 am, in Saint Petersburg Linear Park (59.950631,30.210562) to enjoy the skills and talent of the Band of the A. F. Mozhaisky Military and Space Forces Academy.

With the ongoing support of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Directorate of the Spasskaya Tower Tattoo continues its efforts to revive one of the most charming traditions of the past featuring military bands performing in parks and gardens, streets and alleys, and other iconic open air sites of Moscow and Saint Petersburg, and now the City of Pskov as well. The project, in essence, is a series of concerts staged by bands representing Russia’s military and law enforcement agencies, paving the way for the main events of the Spasskaya Tower Festival.
