The Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival is carried annually on Moscow’s Red Square. In 2025, this awe-inspiring event will unfold between August 22 and 31.
Scale, audience and impact wise, it has no par, every year being recognized as the most prominent international cultural event in Russia, as well as being ranked among the world’s best top three military tattoos.
Since 2007, the Spasskaya Tower Festival is being carried out following the order of President of Russia Vladimir Putin and under the aegis of the Public Council headed by Mr. Alexander Zhukov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The tattoo also enjoys the unwavering organisational and/or financial support of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, and Moscow Government Department of Culture.
However, this dazzling display of lights, dance, music, color and precision would be incomplete without the Festival’s good friends, including the Rostec State Corporation (since 2007), Rosoboronexport JSC and Transneft Company.
According to Mr Sergey Chemezov, Head of the Rostec Corporation, “the Spasskaya Tower Military Tattoo is one of the most outstanding cultural celebrations taking place in Moscow, with each festival’s line-up featuring a wonderfully varied cast of Russian and foreign military bands, honor guard units and vibrant folklore teams. It’s noteworthy that in the challenging times we all are going through, the tattoo has become instrumental in advancing patriotic values and cultural diplomacy, as well as strengthening friendship and understanding among nations”.
Over the last sixteen years, the Spasskaya Tower Festival welcomed in Moscow more than 200 participants from 59 states, with over 900k people attending its evening shows on Red Square.
In 2025, the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival celebrates the 80th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War Victory and pays homage to all those who have been bravely fighting for their homeland. However, it’s worth noting that every year the organizers quite in advance choose the leading theme of the Festival that should be followed by all the Festival’s participants.
“The best military bands and creative teams from all over the world will once again come together on Red Square, in the very heart of Russia, to celebrate their shared passion for music and arts. A landmark in the global artistic landscape, the Spasskaya Tower Festival has steadfastly promoted the idea of national cultural cohesion while never straying away from its traditions. Music sketches by numerous international artists set against the backdrop of the Moscow Kremlin’s historic red brick walls and towers highlights the triumph of mutual respect and benevolence as well as the ongoing connection between Russia and the international community”, pointed out Mr Alexander Mikheev, CEO of the Rosoboronexport JSC.
In 2025, the Festival global cast comprises participants from Belarus, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Republika Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina), UAE and Zimbabwe. The lead services representing Russia this year are some of the best military artistic ensembles of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Federal Guard Service, National Guard Forces, Federal Security Service, and Russia’s Emergencies Ministry.
“This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War Victory. To commemorate this historic occasion, Moscow’s Red Square will be welcoming guests and participants from Europe, Asia and Africa who are all equally committed to advancing the admirable goal of the Spasskaya Tower Military Tattoo, which is to promote equitable and fair cooperation as well as cultural exchange between nations for the better future. The cobblestones of Moscow’s Red Square will once again host a breathtaking spectacle celebrating arts and friendship, as has been the case for many years”, highlighted Mr Nikolay Tokarev, President of Transneft.
Along with the evening shows unfolding on Red Square, the Festival's regular program involves a manifold of side events and special projects, including performances on VDNH, parks, gardens and other open-air spots in Moscow.
The extensive charitable program of the Festival is also noteworthy, with the special focus on families of those taking part in the Special Military Operation.
The Spasskaya Tower Festival is a collection of awe-inspiring evening performances staged in the very heart of the Russian capital, with each show being a genuine theatrical masterpiece composed of a prologue, participants' individual sketches, an epilogue and an impressive massed band finale, annually bringing together over 1500 musicians from all over the globe.
WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING YOU ON RED SQUARE
