Moscow Tsarytsino Park Will Welcome the 21st Military Band of the Moscow Military District Headquarters

Go back

Military marches and beautiful war-years songs will mark the weekend at Moscow’s Tsarytsino Park. This Sunday, July 20, it will be the turn of the 21st Military Band of the Moscow Military District Headquarters to show their talent and skills within the ninth Military Bands in the City Parks season.

With music and dancing, the concert promises to be spectacular. The precise rhythms of military marches, and touching rhythms of much-loved war-year songs will get everyone both moved and moving.

With Lieutenant Colonel Oleg Tyshchuk at the helm, the 21st Military Band of the Moscow Military District Headquarters has put together a lively and inspiring program encompassing a variety of medleys and world-renowned marching compositions.

The 21st Military Band is a perfectly assembled selection of high-end professionals who carry on the glorious traditions of their predecessors, the Exemplary Band of the 6th Motorized Rifle Regiment formed back in 1940, and the Military Band of the 154 Preobrazhensky Regiment organized on June 1, 2011. On March 1, 2024 following several administrative and structural reshuffles the Moscow Military District was once again brought to map, and as a result the ensemble was born. The ensemble still focuses primarily on performing ceremonial duties, and accompanying all high-level state and official events.

Like its predecessors the Military Band focuses primarily on performing ceremonial duties. It accompanies all high-level events when foreign leaders pay official visits to Moscow, takes part in wreath-laying ceremonies at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier beneath the Kremlin walls. The ensemble musicians never miss a single military parade on Red Square. Besides, they have the honor to be among the permanent participants of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo.

Thus, we are looking forward to meeting you all this Sunday, July 20, at 5 pm (17:00) in Moscow’s Tsarytsino Park. Entrance is free.

With the ongoing support of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Organizing Committee of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo continues its efforts to revive one of the most charming traditions of the past featuring military bands performing in parks and gardens, streets and alleys, and other iconic open air sites of Moscow and Saint Petersburg, and now the City of Pskov as well.

The project, in essence, is a series of concerts staged by bands representing Russia’s military and law enforcement agencies, paving the way for the main events of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo.

In 2025, Moscow will welcome the seventeenth run of the Festival that will unfold on Red Square between August 22 and 31. Bringing together over 1500 artists from all corners of the globe, the Festival will honor the 80th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War and pay tribute to all those valiantly defending their nations.
