Spend the Weekend with the Military Bands in the City Parks, St. Petersburg Edition, and the Band of the Nakhimov Naval School

This Saturday, July 12, at 12 am we are looking forward to meeting you in Saint Petersburg’s Murino Park to enjoy another concert of the Military Bands in the City Parks. This time it will be the turn of the Military Band of the Nakhimov Naval School to invite the audiences on a musical journey through some of the best-loved tunes from our last several decades.

Whether it’s the band rendition of Soviet popular songs, or world-renowned classics reimagined with a military twist, expect an unforgettable musical experience. Audiences will be hard fought to keep their feet still as vibrant polkas, and tender songs as well as a plethora of renowned tunes will immerse them into the euphoria of a dance floor.

And of course, the younger guests will be taken on board as the ensemble has infused their performance with several all-time popular children’s animated movie soundtracks.

As for the band, it was formed back in 1944 along with the foundation of the Leningrad Nakhimov Navy School. Originally the ensemble featured twenty professional military musicians as well as the school students. Intensely engaged in concert activities and supporting the school’s solemn celebrations, musicians also take part in the school’s everyday life. The Military Band of the Nakhimov Naval School has regularly been taking part in Victory Parade on Red Square, Main Naval Parade and international wind bands festival in Saint Petersburg.

Hence, we invite you to join us this Saturday, July 12, at 12 am in the Murino Park of Saint Petersburg and enjoy another beautiful music weekend in the city. Entrance is free.

With the ongoing support of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Organizing Committee of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo continues its efforts to revive one of the most charming traditions of the past featuring military bands performing in parks and gardens, streets and alleys, and other iconic open air sites of Moscow and Saint Petersburg, and now the City of Pskov as well.

The project, in essence, is a series of concerts staged by bands representing Russia’s military and law enforcement agencies, paving the way for the main events of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo.

In 2025, Moscow will welcome the seventeenth run of the Festival that will unfold on Red Square between August 22 and 31. Bringing together over 1500 artists from all corners of the globe, the Festival will honor the 80th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War and pay tribute to all those valiantly defending their nations.
