This Sunday, September 1, Moscow’s Red Square will host the daytime show of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo. The participants and organizers are looking forward to meeting all the guests, especially the young ones. Just in a few days, on September 2, they will be back in schools, so we suggest spending this last summer weekend enjoying great music, vivid dances and songs from all over the globe.
Everyone who is not a night owl by soul will have a chance to witness an amazing show unfolding beneath the walls of the ancient Kremlin and gorgeous Saint Basil’s Cathedral.
“Unlike the previous years, our sixteenth Festival enjoys the finest weather possible. Just imagine, the sun is shining, you take your seat on the stands, look around and appreciate the picturesque view. And once a year you have such a chance”, pointed out Mr Sergey Khlebnikov, Artistic Director of the Spasskaya Tower Festival. He also noted that through beautiful and thoughtful music, vivid artistic moments and dynamic dancing sequences the Spasskaya Tower Tattoo meant to invoke the affection for the Motherland among the younger generation.
The President’s Band of the Moscow Kremlin Commandant Office together with the Honor Guard of the Presidential Regiment, the Central Military Band of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Combined Band and Honor Guard Unit of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, the Military Exemplary Band of the Honor Guard, the 21st Military Band of the Moscow Military District, the Military Band of the First Anti-Missile and Air Defense Army, the Police Combined Band of the Ministry of Internal Affair, and others will honor the exquisite skills, talent and professionalism Russian artists are famous for.
Making their Tattoo debut on Red Square, the Admiralty Band of the Leningrad Naval Base and the 23d Military Band of the Leningrad Military District will wow the crowds with a musical performance depicting stories about the charming city of Saint Petersburg.
The cobblestones of Red Square will also welcome the Suvorov Cadet Band of the Lieutenant General Valery Khalilov Moscow Military Music School, together with the Girl Drummers Band of the All-Girls Boarding School of the Russian Ministry of Defense. These young boys and girls are always winning the crowds and have become the Spasskaya Tower Festival all-time favorites.
Moscow’s Red Square will welcome about thirty Russian ensembles as well as guests from Belarus, Venezuela, Guinea, Egypt, China, Thailand, Turkey and South Africa. Join us to appreciate some vivid vibes and stunning colors, unique national traditions and rich heritage, to learn about the traditional Thai martial art and enjoy unique dance sequences.

This year’s Festival is being carried out with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.
Tickets for the Tattoo are available via the Festival official website (www.spasstower.ru) and the Festival’s ticket office on Manezhnaya Square near the 1812 War Museum. The ticket office is open daily, from 12 am to 9 pm.
