This year the Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo welcomes back the Children and Youth Wind Bands Festival. Up to August 28, some of the best young musicians of Russia will have the honor to perform on Red Square beneath the walls of the Moscow Kremlin.
The lineup of the 2024 festival comprises children and youth ensembles, who won the 2023 online qualifying round. Hailing from diverse regions of Russia, young artists presented their audiences an array of music pieces ranging from the solemn Mikhail Glinka Glory and renowned classics like Maurice Ravel Bolero to popular children's movie scores.
The Wind Band and the All-Girls Drumming Ensemble of the Moscow School N 1770 had drawn inspiration in popular war-years’ songs and presented the stands a vibrant medley that could not lack Katusha.
Then, the girls of the drumming ensemble shook the cobblestones of Red Square with a vibrant and vivid drumming beat.
Young Daria Kuznetsova from the 1770 School said that she was very happy with the performance despite the anxiety.
To the standing ovations the performance ended with My dear Moscow song regarded to be the anthem of the Russian capital.

The goal of the project is to promote the art of military music among youngsters, evoking curiosity in various musical styles and forming a unified culture, as well as revitalizing youth band movements, defining patriotic ideals and preserving national music traditions.
