Popular Songs, Military Marches and Open-Ground Drill Concert in Moscow’s Perovo Park

Go back

This Saturday, August 10, we are looking forward to meeting all the guests and residents of Moscow in Perovo Park to spend another beautiful music weekend together. This time, joining the cast of the 2024 Military Bands in the City Parks, will be the Military Band of the 147th Motor Vehicle Base of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Sounds of brave military marches, flowy waltzes and vibrant popular songs will be flying all over the Perovo park lanes. Moreover, musicians will wow the audiences with an authentic platz or open-ground concert where they can show both their music talents, and marching cum drilling skills.

With Captain Vladislav Mysheev currently at the helm, the ensemble possesses quite an extensive repertoire encompassing military pieces, classics by Russian and foreign authors, as well as a plethora of popular songs and melodies. Thus, the carefully put together concert program will be enjoyed by all, even the most demanding guests, leaving not a single chance to stay untouched or indifferent.

Founded in 1996, the ensemble is committed to fostering excellence, with some of the best professional military musicians among its ranks. The ensemble always seeks stepping out of the box and enriching their artistic record with modern popular hits from home and abroad. Musicians have the honor to annually take part in the Great Victory Parade on Red Square as part of the combined band. For their outstanding professionalism they have been granted numerous awards. Since 2008, the band has become a good friend of the Spasskaya Tower Festival, always trying to move forward and award the audiences fresh original performances.

Thus, we are looking forward to meeting you all this Saturday, August 10, at 4pm (16:00) in Moscow’s Perovo Park. Entrance is free.

With the ongoing support of the Russian Ministry of Defense and Moscow’s Government Department of Culture, the Organizing Committee of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo continues its efforts to revive one of the most charming traditions of the past, with military bands performing in parks and gardens, streets and alleys, and other iconic spots in Moscow and its environs.

The Military Bands in the City Parks became winner of the 2024 Grant Competition by the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives, giving the project an opportunity to step out of its traditional boundaries. Now, not only Moscow, but also Saint Petersburg will have a chance to witness some of the best music ensembles of the Russian Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies.

Up to late September, military wind bands will stage as many as 22 concerts in both cities.
