The Band of the National Guard Performed Beneath the Kremlin Walls

Today, August 6, the Military Band of the Central Orsha-Khingan Order of Zhukov Red Banner National Guard District Headquarters performed military marches and popular hits on Moscow’s Manezhnaya Square, beneath the walls of the State Historical Museum. It was another run of the unique Military Bands in the City Parks project.

Supported by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Directorate of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival carries on its activities to revive the beautiful tradition of military orchestras performing in the city’s parks and gardens, squares and lanes, and other important venues.

The audiences of the Saturday concert warmly greeted the musicians and welcomed every music piece with standing ovations and loud ‘bravo’ exclamations.

The event is being organised by the Directorate of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival and the State Historical Museum, our long-standing friend and partner, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

It’s been six years in a row that the Military Bands in the City Parks project has been paving the way for the main events of the Spasskaya Tower Festival, which, following a long-standing tradition, features breathtaking performances staged by some of the best national and international artistic teams.
