Bravery and commitment of military musicians have lingered forever in the scrolls of the Great Patriotic War.
During the War military conductor, graduate of the Moscow Conservatory and excellent musician Victor Nazarov was in command of the 14th airborne regiment, and then of the 26th rifle regiment. Commander of the Fifth Guard Army General Alexey Zhadov spoke of him as of a very brave and dedicated commander. Though being wounded twice Lieutenant Colonel Nazarov remained among the army lines.
