The Band of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corps
Captain Darren Wolfendale, Conductor of the Band.
The Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corps was formed back in 1942. Initially, there was only a small group of drummers and flutists. Later the music team was enlarged, with a newly introduced position of bandmaster for more skillful performance and better casting of musicians. In 1947 the Military Ministry confirmed the official status of the band of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corps.
Depending on the music genre (marches, dances or other types), the ensemble performs in its concert, extended or chamber cast.
The band is very popular across the British Isles. Today, it successfully represents Great Britain all over the world including the USA, Canada, Germany, Bosnia, Italy, Uzbekistan, Guatemala, Mexico, Cyprus and the UK.
