The Flagwavers of Cori have a unique style of performing which is known all around Italy. The group is a permanent participant of various national and international festivals. The group twice participated at the Spasskaya Tower Festival.
Caetani Flagwavers of Sermoneta
Biagio Basta, President of the Caetani Flagwavers Association.
The group was formed in 1996 to popularize the ancient art of flag waving and boost interest to national folklore. Their performances are based on the remarkable historic period of the Caetani family, two members of which were popes.
Unlike others representatives of the Italian flagwavers society that use flags with lead poles, groups from Sermoneta and Cori use flags with wooden pole, allowing them jolting flags much higher.
One of the Caetani Flagwavers performances features the return of the Duke of Sermoneta after the Lepanto Battle of 1571. They demonstrate the transition from war to peace, grounding of arms and raising the flags of the great winner.
The group successfully performs both in Italy and abroad.
