“The Spasskaya Tower is Fraternal Friendship. Moscow United All with the Rhythm of Marching Songs and Dances!”

On Saturday, November 4, Central Military Orchestra of the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation performed in the Zaryadye Park.

On the Day of National Unity, the Spasskaya Tower Festival and Central Military Orchestra of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, with the support of the Moscow Government, took part in the All-Russian campaign Night of the Arts. The Zaryadye city park, located in the very heart of Moscow, hosted a festive performance of the Orchestra. Guests of the park heard old marches, waltzes and popular tunes of Russian and foreign authors.

In just 10 years of holding the Spasskaya Tower Festival it was attended by 150 bands from 50 countries of the world, while many foreign orchestras became regular participants and true friends of the project. In 2017, the Presidential Orchestra of the State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan presented the Festival with the same name march-song in honor of the Festival’s anniversary. «The Spasskaya Tower is fraternal friendship, like the Kremlin wall. Moscow united all with the rhythm of marching songs and dances!» sings this song.

«Our Project can be called the personification of the motto of the campaign «Art Unites», commented Sergei Smirnov, head of the Directorate of the Spasskaya Tower Festival. «Every year Red Square, which is the heart of Russia, gathers fifteen thousand musicians from around the world who, in the end of each performance, become one harmonious orchestra, impeccably performing masterpieces of the world musical culture».

Central Military Orchestra of the Ministry of Defense is the leading creative band of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and one of the world’s most famous orchestras. It is a regular participant and visiting card of the International Military Music Festival Spasskaya Tower. «We are grateful to Central Military Orchestra that they supported the initiative and found the „window“ in their busy concert schedule to take part in the cultural and educational campaign Night of the Arts and congratulate the residents and guests of Moscow on the Day of National Unity», noted Sergei Smirnov.
