History of military music schools for children in Russia dates back to the Soviet times. The first schools began operating in several Soviet cities before the Great Patriotic War.
New schools continued to be opened even during the hardest times of War. Thus, by the end of War 17 military music schools for children were working within the Soviet Armed Forces.
